MEET OUR US 105.9 PERSONALITIES
Diane got her start graduating from Eastern Illinois in the late 80's, interning on the Saga Radio Stations, then working for K-104 in 1989. She also dabbled in TV, working behind the scenes for years at WCIA-TV Channel 3. Her next stop was in the Cajun Heartland working most of the 90's in Lafayette, Louisiana with 94.5 KSMB. She reunited with Stevie Jay on the corner of Neil and Windsor for 12 years as a radio personality on Lite Rock 97.5 and WDWS with Gary O'Brien's show doing a segment on the upcoming weekend activities. When Stevie Jay started his own station group in C-U, Diane joined at the end of November 2010 co-hosting the 7-9am show. Diane loves being on the air at WGKC, too and was part of the transition when it changed formats from Classic Rock to playing New Country and All Time Favorites now.
Diane is very active in her community, being apart of the Tolono Fun Day committee for over 20 years, emceeing events, President of various boards like Unity West PTO and the Unity Music Boosters as well as on St Patrick's Altar and Rosary Society. Diane wrote for the County Star over a dozen years and now tries to keep Rocket Nation in the spotlight with a back page feature in the paper called "Southern Champaign County TODAY."
Diane married Mike Anderson in 2001. They have 2 kids together: Anna and Aidan. Diane's daughter Gabrielle (ISU) has a job in Milwaukee at Kohl's corporate office. The family loves cars of all kinds, with a few antiques Mike likes to tinker around with as an Illini Collector Car Club treasurer, retired from Krannert Center after nearly 30 years as an attendant.
First of all, thank you SO much for listening to US-105.9! I am so honored and lucky to be on my side of the microphone playing your favorite songs in the Country Music World! I'm a sincere when I have to be....but mostly fun and quirky guy who was born in Chicago. I've lived in Central Illinois for too many years to count....so this is home to me. I am a Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks and sports fan. But I love pretty much anything to do with sports. I respect all sports rivalries. Life is too short to take them too seriously, but bring on a good game! I am a music lover with who appreciates a good pun and cheezy humor. I am a lover....not a fighter who dislikes oranges and rude people. (Not necessarily in that order). Please reach out to me if you want a shout-out and to hear your favorite song. I am up for a good joke or a good-natured story! I am a bit old-school, so e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks again for listening to US-105.9 and our group of stations and have a great day!!
